I know these videos may seem like they're the same thing over and over: baby smiling, mom talking in a weird voice, baby cooing, mom laughing. Repeat. However, I never want to forget these moments of early communications with Davis so I will probably post several more. :)
Davis loves to be sung to and songs with actions are hysterical to him.
"Ta da!!!" Cal played dress up in my closet this morn while Mitch got ready. He didn't have to go in until 10am and my school was canceled due to the extremely cold temps. With a wind chill of -20, I don't blame Cal for wearing both a sweater robe and a scarf.
I kept the boys home with me today. Their day cares were open, but Mama needed some time with her boys.
We had a busy morning full of coloring, Cars the movie, and Hi-Ho Cheery-o, so I thought Cal would be itchin' for a nap. He wanted to nap in our bed, so I told him he had to be a big boy and go to sleep while I went to put Davis down. I came back 30 minutes later and he had ransacked our room. All the items on our nightstands were on the floor: books were strewn around, the Mentholatum and hand lotion were open, our lamps were on....it was a mess. I got him settled down again and gave him my stern Mom voice. Apparently I need to work on that, because 30 minutes later he came downstairs with no pants on and told me that he needed to wash his hands because he'd been touching his butt. As gross as that is, I started thinking....."what did he do with his hands after he touched his butt?!?" So I asked. I wish I wouldn't have. I had a lot more cleaning to do than I expected. UGH!
I blurred out his parts. He looks so proud of himself.
I re-pants our non-napper and gave up trying to get him to nap and told him he had to rest. We watched Nemo and then he started to get tired.....but he wouldn't admit it. We had a carpet picnic of apples, crackers, and PB.
While Cal and I watched cartoons and ate (not a bad way to spend the afternoon, for the record), Davis took a good nap. When he woke up, I went in to find him all smiley, per his usual post-sleep attitude. He is such a sweetie!!!
I gave Cal a bath and then he played in the water for 20 minutes, so D and I had some quality play time. He is really starting to grab thing now (usually my hair) and mouths almost everything he can. It is so interesting watching him concentrate on getting his coordination to work.
Davis and I were talking while Cal played a new ABC Mouse app. He also loves the apps that tell him fairy tales. His recent favorite is the Tortoise and the Hare.
When Mitch got home, we had dinner and Cal got up and walked away. We asked him what he was doing and he said, "Don't worry guys. I'm just going to the restroom." Oh....ok, little man. He is so matter of fact, sometimes!!
Davis is the epitome of a bouncing smiley cherub,,,he really engages now and the camera loves him...i miss him a lot, holding him and making him laugh...so glad you have captured this on video...sometimes i watch them 4 or 5 times in a row...how fast they grow, this time is exquisite with them now
