A program, two weeks worth of "the pukies", and a little crafting

It's been an eventful two weeks!  Davis has had the stomach flu twice and Cal has had it once.  Luckily, they were both healed before Cal's big school program!  While they were sick, we watched a lot of cartoons, got in some good snuggles, and even did a little Christmas crafting.

We got our first snow on Nov. 16th.  Cal woke up around 6:45am and I told him that it'd snowed.  He woke up quickly and said, "I wanna go play in it."  Sooooooo.......out he and I went.  Luckily that lasted for about 5 minutes.  However, Davis woke up around 7am and I didn't want to leave him out, so we ventured back out for a bit.

We all went back out around 5 that evening and Vada joined us!

Ollie was snuggled up in Cal's bed while we were reading stories that night.  That pig dog is so darn sweet.

It was all fun and games until Cal woke up at 3am and his tummy hurt.  Cue the panic.  About 20 minutes later, he started getting sick.  Mitch stayed home with him until noon that day so that I could go see all my students and then swap with him for the afternoon.

Cal had some good cockatoo hair goin' on.

Unfortunately, Davis wasn't immune to "the pukies" and woke up the next night with some unpleasant surprises.

He didn't get as sick as Cal, thankfully.  Both boys were feeling back to normal by the second day!

Cal helped me do a little painting on a Christmas craft.  I'm making them as gifts, so I'll show the finished project later!

Davis woke up and got some lovin' from O-Bird.  Don't judge.  She's basically a human.....which would mean he's kissing his sister.....sooooooo, let's just scratch this train of thought.  In short, she's a sweet dog and our boys love her and vice versa.  :)

Davis helped me paint a little, too!  The boys put their hand prints on the backs of the boards when we were done.

The next night (Thursday) was Cal's program.  Davis was glued to the program for the first few songs.  This kid LOVES music.

The program was so cute.  Cal had memorized all three songs and the actions!  These are just short clips of the songs.  He had been singing the songs all week, along with discussing how delicious the punch and cookies were going to be afterwards.

The next morn, I took the boys to the donut shop before school.  Davis loves donut holes.  #whodoesnt

Sprinkles for Cal.  Classic choice.  Always a staple.

Mimi came to town to do a little Christmas shopping!  Davis took full advantage of an open lap and demanded that she read books to him the next morn.

I decorated the tree on Sunday while the boys napped.  When Davis woke up, he was entranced!

I tried to put the ornaments up high enough so that D couldn't reach them.  The bottom third of our tree is naked.

"Hey ladies.....I'm just about to hit up the gym.  No big deal."

This boy loves wearing hats!  Such a hoot.

My 33rd Bday and Cal's first date

Just a little game of peek-a-boo....

This picture cracks me up!  He and Cal had so much fun with the balloons that day (and for several after).

Davis and Daddy were reading before work one day.  D LOVES books and brings them to us whenever he can.  He can point to animals and objects when we ask him "Where's the......?"  He is starting to say so many words, but one of the funniest is when we ask him, "What's a dinosaur say?"  He then roars!  "What's an elephant say?"  He will trumpet and raise his right arm like a trunk.  :)

He didn't say "roar" this time, but he independently started pointing to his own dinosaur PJ's!

Whoops.  Looks like Mommy's sweet tooth is being passed down yet again.

I think I already posted these pictures, but I just love them.

We went to the football game on Nov. 1st and it was freezing!  Cal sat in the Tahoe with Maddox and Luke (OSU fans) while we chatted with our OSU friends.  They always have fun when they get together!

Mommy forgot my bib!  Hooray for yogurt!!

Big D hasn't been feeling well for over a week.  He had an intense vomiting episode one night.  He and I both changed clothes three times and ended up taking a bath at midnight!  It was a rough night!  He just hasn't been himself since then.  I think he's getting more teeth!?!?

I picked him up early from school one day and he just wanted to lay beside Ollie when we got home.  Poor baby!

On Nov. 9th, we went to the Zoo to enjoy the odd 70 degree temps before it was going to plummet into the 20's later that week.  It was a perfect morning!

Side note:  both Mitch and I spent our 33rd birthdays at the zoo with our boys.  If you aren't 33 yet, then please know this is how you should spend your birthday.  It's pretty darn special!   We are trendsetters.  :)

After their naps, we went fishing with our friends, the Gillespies.  Cal caught his first fish!!!  He was beyond excited!

On my birthday, I picked the boys up after work.  Cal immediately wanted to cook the cupcakes (aka, eat the batter b/c he and I know that that's really the best part!!!!), so we got right to it.
We all enjoyed licking the bowl clean.....

.....ALL of us.  :)

We ate my birthday cupcakes after some yummy Mexican food.  Any night that someone else cooks dinner for my family, is a win in my book.  :)

Thank you to my sweet hubby and boys for making my day so special!!  Mitch interpreted Cal's scribbles on my card and it said, "Happy Birthday, Mama!  Can I have your cake?  I love you.  Amen."

That kid!

Cal said, "He won't let go!  I need to poke him in the eye!!!!"
#heisyourbrother  #notashark

This tired boy FIGHTS sleep.  He sits in his bed and plays, sings, and talks for at least two hours.  He finally fell asleep around 10pm and I had to take his pic.  Sweet boy.

Cal likes to help feed Davis sometimes.  I'm all for it....he usually eats more when his big brother feeds him anyway!

I took Cal on a date this last Friday.  We ate cheeseburgers at Freddy's, his favorite, and then went to the big theater for his first movie!

Look at how happy this boy is....

Cal was so excited to go into the theater.  It was so special watching him experience every thing for the first time.   It made me take in the movie experience through a child's eyes and it was pretty magical.  Not to sound corny, but it seriously was so special.  He had so many questions about the lights and chairs, people in the theater, etc.

We went to The Big Hero 6 and it was sooooooo cute.  Cal sat on my lap for the whole movie and we gorged on Dots (the candy he chose) and Skittles.  I loved every minute of it and I think he did, too.

Since we went to the movie during his normal nap time, this boy was exhausted on the drive home.  We picked up Davis and when we got back to the house, Cal wanted to lay on the couch and "rest for awhile" while he watched cartoons.  :)

I can honestly say that this was one of the best dates your mommy has ever had, little boy.  I love you so much!
