Cal's bday party, trips to Larned, 4th of July, Gm';s 90th, and everything in between!

I love my jogging stroller.  The boys let me get in 30 minutes of stress relief and then they're ready to stretch their legs and get out.

We went to Manhattan with the Gillespies and stayed at their cabin.  While the boys golfed, Kristin and I took the kids to the amazing splash park.

Avery and Davis will be in the same class at JNA next year.  They're so cute together!

These two are the sweetest 4 year olds.

The boys and I took a trip to the zoo with Cal's class that next week.

After the zoo, we drove straight to Larned for a visit.

It didn't take this one long to jump into Mimi's pool....buck nekkid, per usual Walter boys' behavior.

Splash pad!

Birthday spankings from Papa!  lol

He helped Dad unwrap his Father's Day gifts.

Then this 4 year old got to open his presents from Mimi and Papa.  A remote controlled race car and a snow cone maker!

Cal was helping replace the mailbox post.  :)

Enjoying his snow cone.....lol!

Playing baseball with Papa.  It gives me flashbacks to when he used to play soft toss with me....."put your weight on your back foot.....swing straight through, not down....etc."  I love watching their batting sessions.

"Cheers, Mimi!"

The boys got their first slushies before we went to the park!  Love at first drink......

Such a monkey....

After naps, these boys were in a daze watching Rio.

Silly boys were helping me shop at Target.  Pick a good one, Davis...

High five, Travis!  We got a bouncy house for Cal's party.....the kids had a blast.

Katie, myself, Ashley, and Kristin (who was 6 months prego at this point and didn't even look like it!?!?)

My beautiful friend, Angela, and her big boy, James!

This is what happens when I try to do sit ups.  So helpful!  :)

Back to the zoo we went!  These boys were baa'ing at the sheep and giving them good pets.

We joined Cal's class at My Gym for another field trip!

This big boy got three shots at his 4 year old check up.  He wore the bandaids for a whole 36 hours before he'd let me take them off.  :)

Sweet curls.....this pic doesn't show it, but he is becoming a blondie!!

Misha and Tony flew in for the 4th of July!  Cal.  Ate.  Up.  The.  Attention.  :)

Sweet O-Bear fell asleep like this on the ride to Larned.

I love this pic!  The boys wanted to put on their sunnies and read books just like Aunt Misha.

Fireworks!

We went to Lewis Days on the 4th of July.  It was so fun watching their little parade and catching up with everyone.  Grandma was so excited because she got to catch up with many people.  It was a great early bday present.

Side note: the City Hall building in the background used to be a restaurant called the Golden Manor.  It had the best fried chicken.  Grandma used to take us there to eat when we were really little.  It closed when we were younger than 10, but thankfully The Pub has remained a steady eatery in Lewis!  So yummy.

My Sweet Grandma Gatterman....so beautiful, patient, and compassionate.  I love her so much.

Beautiful lady!

Davis was just licking the Snickerdoodles.  lol

Our fireworks watching crew....

Davis was so tired that he crashed  around 11am.  He slept past 2pm....until Cal woke him up.  grrrrrr

To be a good bubble blower, one must become the bubble.

"Crackers?  no.  Raisins?  no."

Back to the park!

These are the beautiful flowers that Dad sent Grandma on her 90th birthday.  I went over to her house while the boys napped.  We were able to hold a conversation for over two hours, which used to be an easy feat but with the boys running around now we sure don't seem to have them as often.  We talked about Grandpa's time in WWII and their dating years, about the boys, about Dad and Bryan's childhood, etc.  It was a great afternoon....I love her so much.

He was kissing his boo boo's.  :)

....and mine.

This is how the boys slept, which wasn't too bad....until Davis turned sideways and took up the other half of the bed.  It wasn't the most restful couple of nights' sleep!

Donnie usually slept at the foot of my parents' bed or on the couch....pillow and all.

Look at this cutie that Cal and I found!:

Birthday cake face!

My Uncle Bryan flew in on Grandma's bday.  The next day, we all went out to the pasture and explored.  Davis slept for the first hour, but Cal really enjoyed walking around the countryside.  He tasted (and spit out) Sand Hill Plums, inspected cow pies, and sauntered through the prairie grass in search of bugs.

We walked all the way across the pasture so we could see the river running.  It's been dry for years, but this has been a pretty wet couple of years.....and the river was running strong.  It was beautiful...cat tails and all.

I went for a run on July 8th and it was 55 degrees?!?!?!  The mild temps came to an abrupt halt and we are back into the upper 90's/low 100's.

The boys were so worn out from our trip in Larned that Cal slept like this when we got home.

Meanwhile...upstairs.....Davis discovered that he can crawl out of his crib just like his pack n play in Larned.  :(

I gave up and let them nap together the next day.  Sweet boys.

Half price ice cream cones at Sonic!

We went to Daddy's office for a visit!

Cal's first National Geographic magazine came in and he loves having it read to him!

It poured that afternoon and holy moly, these boys were excited to jump in the puddles!
Who knew that this boy would use his snack container as a cup....to drink the disgusting puddle water?!?!  UGH

Golf course crew....

We went to the Schlatters on Saturday after the boys played golf.  Mitch went off the board and 2.5 seconds later, Davis followed suit and jumped off without fear.  This one is fearless.....and it frightens me!
