It's been WARM in Kansas!

Big D was lounging around one morning.....with  one sock on.  This is seriously his standard!  He is very rarely sporting two socks!

We had an amazingly spring-like week.  Temperatures were in the upper 70's!  IN FEBRUARY!?  Kansas weather is crazy, but we loved spending so much time outside, so we're not complaining!

Cal and Ella were playing "Prince and Princess" on evening.  :)

The boys were so tired when we got home.  Davis crashed easily and Cal wasn't too far behind!

Davis likes to paint....himself!

After we got cleaned up, we played outside in the fort.  My little climber really enjoys playing in the fort!

We went to the park one day.  It was almost 80 degrees that day......shorts were worn by all!

My little cheeser was excited to watch the ducks swim around.

"Little fella" followed his big brother around....

They were watching this little black duck, who is always the noisiest quacker, as he dove underwater and shook his tail feathers in the air.  It was pretty funny!

My little companion is never far from my feet.  If I go upstairs, she's close behind....aching for a chance to lay down and snooze while I stay in one room (which rarely happens!).  Each night, I usually go to bed before Mitch....but my little girl always joins me.  Mitch usually has to move her over when he comes in and she grunts and moans and groans while he does so.  lol!

Night 4:

Funny kids!

After we made cookies, we ALL enjoyed the best part....the batter!

He sticks his tongue out when he really concentrates on something....

I love this little boy's curls.

Our little leftie likes to scribble and color.

He would NOT leave me alone while I was trying to cook, so I gave him some cans and he went to town.  This has become a new favorite game in the kitchen!

He moved onto sweeping, sporting his Spiderman boots...of course!

Davis had a low temperature on Thursday afternoon, so I stayed home with him on Friday.  I kept Cal home, too, but we went to his Valentine's Day party after lunch!  Cal was so sweet to his little brother and wanted him to be involved in everything.  Davis ate it up!

He was handing her a heart.  He likes the older ladies!

Yet again, this little climber caught me off guard and climbed up the big white stool......

....but he didn't stop there!  Onto the counter he went...

Sweet kiddo...

A bunny had fallen down our window well, so we watched as Mitch rescued it.  Ollie was QUITE interested in this event!!!

Bowling, Super Bowl, and Weaning

I went in to check on Cal before I went to bed one night and found him in this strange position.  :)

We took the boys bowling on Sunday with our friends, the Schlatters.  Davis wanted to take EVERY SINGLE BALL off of the shelves.

Once we got the ball ramp for Cal, he knocked a lot more pins down!

Ashley's due in a few months.  She wears pregnancy well!

He got a spare!

.....the resident candy thief.....well, the miniature version.  The adult version is typing this blog.

Davis's turn!

Cal and I were watching the KSU game one night, while Mitch was at the game.  He ate SO much that night.  He kept sneaking back to the fridge to grab food: leftover Mexican food, cereal and milk, etc.  It was a peak into his teenage years and it made my pocketbook a little nervous!

We had two record breaking warm days in January.....temps in the 70's!  The boys and I played outside for hours after school each day.  It was a peak into what we have to look forward to this summer and I CANNOT WAIT to spend the days with my babes.

Davis was loading his dump truck with rocks and zooming it around.

We got home that night and made brinner.  :)  Cal helped make and flip the blueberry pancakes!  The boys don't care for blueberries by themselves, but eat them in pancakes.

Davis's hair is starting to get long in the back, but it's still sparse in places on top.  He has curls immediately after baths and when he first wakes up, but as the day wears on his hair starts to get fuzzy!

Look at those lashes.....beautiful boy.

The weather remembered that it was January and not March, so the temps started to dip one day.  The boys didn't want to give up their outside time, so we bundled up and played sports.

We've got a runaway golfer!

Davis ate meat and potatoes like a champ that night.  He loved the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, especially because they were fairly easy to scoop up on the fork.  He's eating right handed here....keeping us on our toes!

My parents adopted this sweet girl from the Great Bend Humane Society last week!  We have yet to meet Sunny, but she seems like the perfect match for my parents.

I had to take a visit to the dentist this week.  You know the dentist has numbed you up really well when you inadvertently nail an Elvis impression.   Damn you, sweet tooth.....and also.....Damn you, lack of self control!

Cal went to his classmate, Gabby Mayans's birthday party this weekend.  The kids had so much fun at My Gym!

That night, we went to the Eck's house for the Super Bowl.  Davis found his favorite teething object and happily ran around.

The next morning, this little man decided to show his daring side once again.  He is in the climbing stage, can you tell?!

Ollie enjoyed Cal's party favors from the night before.

This big ol' brute supervised out train playing.

Cal is convinced that Sunny is actually named "Bandit", which is the name he voted for.  :)

Sadly, it's the end to an era.  I'm currently weaning Davis, which is extremely bittersweet to me. I have absolutely loved rocking and nursing him to sleep for the past 14 months.  I love our one-on-one time every night, just he and I.  Those peaceful, calm moments were the perfect way to end the day, but now it's time to move on.  I know that my 14 month old will sleep better (and so will I) when I stop nursing him.  He will no longer wake up in the night, standing in his crib yelling "Mama!!!!", screaming for milk.  However, it's hard to think to this future when I'm listening to him cry at bedtime when I leave the room.  I must say that tonight, the second night of weaning, he went down MUCH QUICKER, and I am so thankful for that.
My sweet baby boy...
.....sitting in his crib looking towards the door for me.  :(
