Visit with KK and Big Dave and Tessa's wedding

Cal was so excited to see his old friends at KK and Big Dave's!  None of these kiddos come to their house on Fridays, but made a special visit so they could see Cal.  It was so sweet!

Avery really missed Cal!!!  Afterwards she said, "I have to tell my daddy.  I kissed Cal."

  Playing the choo-choo train game...

My cousin, Tessa, got married on Saturday and it was an absolutely beautiful celebration.  Mom and Aunt Susie looked gorgeous, but the bride stole the show.....as she should!

Funny story:  we had the same wedding dress!  We knew they were similar, but it turns out they were the exact same.  It fit Tessa perfectly.  Good taste runs in the family.  :)

The wedding party

We finally snapped a pic of the three (four) of us!

Uncle Tony and Cal were the trend setters of the wedding and were both wearing bow ties!

Our handsome boy!

Mom and Dad looked so nice.  Their glasses were dark because it was fairly bright outside.

Cal photobombed Mimi and Papa!

Singing star

Cal loves to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Old McDonald, and London Bridge.  I caught Mr. Sinatra on camera tonight and will try to get the others soon.  Enjoy!

Backtracking

I posted a pic of Cal next to the jack-o-lantern that he and Mitch carved together, which made me realize that I hadn't posted those pics yet!

After his nap one day, Cal was ready to paint a few pumpkins and carve a big one.  He had a grand time slapping paint all over the baby pumpkins, but when we brought out the big pumpkin he was ready to dig in.

Digging out the pumpkin guts.....

YUCK!  He kept trying to wipe his hands off, but then would right back in.

The finished product:

It turned pretty chilly here this week, well comparatively speaking, but chilly to us!  So I bribed Cal to stay inside by making muffins.  He loves using the mixer and eating the batter.

He thought he could drink the batter like he does the milk from his cereal.  :)

Cal, Davis, and I at 34 weeks pregnant. We're getting closer!

Trip to KC

We went to KC on Saturday for Mitch's firm outing.  We got all spiffed up and didn't take a single family picture.  Failure.

On Sunday, Mitch had to work a booth at the convention so Cal and I went out for breakfast.  He was pretty excited to eat at the "pancake store", aka IHOP.  Next we went to Deanna Rose, a petting zoo in KC, with my friend and her little girls.  Hoff's little girls are so cute and fashionable!

Cal fed the goats some hay....

....but they were greedy and wanted his shirt instead.

Alex and Cal were pretty fascinated by the cows and how often they went to the bathroom.

Next up.....a horse ride!  Cowboy Cal did great!

The kids wrapped it up at the pond by feeding some geese and fish.  All-in-all, the petting zoo was a wonderful way to spend the morning!  Hoff and I got to catch up and our kids wore each other out.  Perfection.

Cal loves to check on his pumpkins each day.  He's especially proud of the jack-o-lantern he helped Mitch carve!

Cal and Vada, the little girl next door, love to play together.   She's a kindergartner and likes to "teach" him.  Here she is sharing her markers and doing some "homework".

Here's a clip of how Mitch works out.  Cal's such a helper!

Cal loves his Snoopy and snuggles him at night.  I took this one night when insomnia got the best of me.  I snuck in and had to snap a pic when I saw this.  Sweet dreams, boys!!

More videos

Cal likes to throw Ollie's toys and say, "You'll never find it now!  Ha! Ha! Ha!"  It's what Swiper says on Dora and now it's what Cal says to O-Bird.

Another one...

This is one of those clips that others may not appreciate, but I laugh every time Cal says it.  I never want to forget how his humor is emerging....rapidly and strongly.  When Cal says this, it makes me laugh out loud....as do most things that he does.  However, he's started watching Bubble Guppies and he's in love with one particular episode called Humunga Truck.  One of the guppies says, "I like it when the horn goes burrrrrp burrrrrrrp".  Cal loves it and says it over and over and over (x 500) until you acknowledge him.  :)

Reading and Chapstick videos

We have an emerging reader on our hands....or perhaps just a little boy that has memorized his favorite book.  :)  He can "read" this book and several others, from cover to cover, reciting most of the words each time.  This is just a short clip, but he read the whole book to Mitch and I caught the tail end of it.  Since we read to him while he's going potty, he makes us sit on the toilet and then he'll read to us.  Pretty funny.

I've had to hide all of my chapsticks, but he found one in my makeup bag and wouldn't let it out of his clutch for most of the morning.  I guess there's nothing wrong with a little pink gloss every now and then.

Pregnancy Insomnia

Insomnia.  That invasive, dirty little word has been keeping me up at night and robbing me of my shut eye.  I'm so exhausted during the day and then 2:30am rolls around.....BOOM.  Awake.  I came downstairs to drink some OJ, something I cannot get enough of lately (with Cal it was milk and with this baby it's sugary OJ), and decided to post some recent pics.

Mom and I went to my cousin Tessa's bridal shower in KC last weekend.  We drove through three hours of rain on the way there which wasn't fun, but mom's car sure was clean after that extended car wash!  Tess looked beautiful and was very blessed with nice gifts at her party.

I'm going to make the other bridesmaids look like stick figures at her wedding in a few weeks.

Ok, signing off for now.  I'll finish this at a more reasonable hour......perhaps at 5:45am when my alarm goes off.

Let the posting resume!  I made some sidewalk chalk paint (super easy recipe: mix equal parts corn starch with water and add some food coloring) and Cal painted the fence for us.  It washes off with water, so I let him go to town.

Here's what it looks like when it's dry.....tada!

I took the morning off to go with Cal's class to the pumpkin patch.  The trip was rushed, but when you're trying to corral 13 two year olds, you have to keep things moving or chaos may ensue.  Anyway, Cal loved everything about the trip.  When I picked him up from school, his teacher said that she asked him what his favorite part of the trip was and he said, "Mommy came."  IT.MELTED.MY.HEART.

He really likes his teachers:  Mrs. Debra, Mrs. Becky, and Mrs. Olga.

He was pretty excited about riding in the caboose of the barrel train!

The teachers corral their little chicken coop by having each kiddo hold onto the rope.  This rope is like magic....they flock to it and adhere to the rule of never letting it go.  It's pretty amazing.

This pumpkin was "too muddy" so he chose another, cleaner pumpkin.  :)

He was eating a snack and talking/smiling in this pic.

Cal got his flu shot today after school so I took him for ice cream afterwards.  He wasn't the only one who enjoyed the cone.

"Cheese!"

"Ollie, no!!"

This is hygienic, right?

Wanna share?

Just for fun....
