Sweet summertime....

This summer was full of both mundane and exciting activities, all of which made for amazing memories.  Even the run of the mill activities were great....the boys and I spent the whole summer together and reconnected.  I feel like the school year provides limited opportunities to full engage in deep conversations with your family.  Summer allowed us to enjoy our time together and RELAX.

With that said, I think we were all kind of ready to have a schedule again.  We were getting a bit bored of our usual routine, even as wonderful as it was.

The boys and I went out to the course and played a hole or two, at least once a week!  It was so fun watching them play.  Cal was so patient and realized that his little brothers were lollygagging, so he maturely grabbed his clubs and played ahead.  He's growing up so fast, but still has such a kind heart...one that seeks affection and reassurance.  Cal.....you really are one of a kind.  I love you, bud.

Davis really enjoys hitting the ball......mostly with the driver because he thinks it's the best.  ha!

Archie Mac....you squirrely little boy.  He loves emulating his brothers ALL. DAY.  LONG.    Golf provides him just another opportunity to do what his big bros do.....

Sweet Peach.....she's such a good, tolerant cat!  Since we've had Piper, she's endured a lot of chasing (never attacking or anything....but Piper likes to chase her at times).....but she just curls up and waits for the dogs to leave her alone.  She lets the boys pick her up and love on her.....she is a snuggler.
..she is amazingly precious kitty.  I'm so glad that Cal and I decided to adopt her (without Mitch fully knowing).  :)

Another zoo trip.....my boys.  My heart.

It got SOOOO hot that morning.  The boys were whining and hot....I was hot and annoyed....so I made them go through the water dumper thing (highly technical terminology) until they cooled down and cheered up.   haha

Mom and Dad went on vacation to Blackhawk, Colorado and then on west to Mesquite, Nevada.  They had a wonderful vacation together!

I was cracking up during this picture.  Cal bought a Sprite at the pool one day.....and then one for his new girl friend.  haha  They sat in the pool and drank their pops together.  💙

Ollie girl was watching her Peachy kitty climb the tree.

Davis and his horse-dog.  💗

I was SOOOOOOO excited for this weekend!  My college girlfriends and I met in Manhattan for the weekend.  We haven't been together, sans kids, in over 8 years.  It was a weekend full of laughter and spirit-lifting moments.....so fun.

After eating at So Long Saloon, we went to our old stomping grounds....Kites.    We've still got it....or atleast we think we did.  :)  #MomsInTheVille

We eventually made our way around the bar scene and stopped at Johnny Kaws!  Zogs and Bathel hopped in and played beer pong with some random guys.  It was hysterical....because they won!

Things got a bit blurry after this point.....so I'm not going to post a few photos (that although are hilarious, aren't something that I want posted on the internet.  hahaha)!!

The next day, we walked around and explored the town where we all became friends.  We stopped by for some yummy queso and beer!

We stopped by the GPhi house and reminisced. We saw this on the basement wall.....and none of us remember why we got in trouble?!!??!  hahahaha

Holy moly....look at that young 18 year old girl!!!

Back where it all began....17 years ago!!!

That night, Ollie and Peach felt exactly like I did...exhausted.

More golfing with my boys....

I LOVE everything about this picture.  Davis made his putt and said, "This is what you do when you make a putt!"   ha!  This kid is hysterical....and watches a lot of golf with his daddy.

Snuggling with my boys one morn....

I took the boys to Tanganikya one morn.....we really like this place!

Every time I squat down to look at something or play with Arch, he squats and does this....it cracks me up!!!!!!

Cal was so excited that the Lorakeet landed on his shoulder!!  He always hopes that one will...and today was his lucky day.

These birds were pushy!

One landed on my hand to eat and Arch was semi-excited, semi-scared.

Selfie with the giraffe, which coincidentally was my nickname from some horribly mean athletes from Hoisington.  (Side note: TMP called me Ostrich.....but I'd much rather be tall with a long neck than short with no neck....so joke's on them.  A-holes.  😎)

Arch didn't want to feed the giraffes...he was so nervous!

DAVIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   This was how he celebrated after making a putt one day.  This kid cracks me up.

Hitting range.....

Puzzles with Ollie.  She completed them all by herself.....joking....but I know she could if she tried.  #smartgirl

Davis was hiding behind Cal in this pic.  ha

I should frame this.  I had to put Rocky in time out in the basement because he kept stealing the kids' food!!!  I heard Arch laughing, so I stopped cooking and came around the corner to see this!!!!!

This kiddo loves bubbles!

First day of school for my littlest babes!!!

Daycare posted these pics on their site.  Archie had a great first day, but didn't acclimate so well the next few.  :(  He has a hard time throughout the day, but I know he will love it....eventually.

I was so happy to be home with my boys that day.  This baby will ALWAYS be my baby.....always.

Cal had his first day the following day....he was so excited!  He had a great first day, but said that "we did a lot of coloring and sitting".  hahahaha

Notice Arch is naked.....or as Mitch calls it, "Porky Pigging it".  haha

Cal and his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Morten.  She is a wonderfully sweet woman!

We took a quick pic by his desk at St. Thomas Aquanis Elementary before sending him off into Kindergarten.  He didn't even blink....he wasn't sad or scared.  He was just ready.  Sweet boy.

Since he only had a half day of school that day, I picked him up and took him to see Despicable Me 3!  It was very funny and I loved spending one-on-one time with my oldest boy.

It rained a lot that afternoon, so to follow in his brothers' footsteps....to the dirty rain gutter he went.

I have always said that if I didn't have to work for a living, that I'd run a dog rescue.  Sooooo.......I contacted the rescue that we adopted Rocky from and put in an application to foster a dog.  We hit the jackpot with sweet Piper.  She was actually one of the dogs that we were interested in....but we met Rocky and adopted him right away.  So, luckily we were able to snag her now......and she is amazing.  She gives kisses, loves our boys, loves us....is just all around sweet.

This pic was taken about 2 minutes after I got her in my van.  :)    One Friday, Davis, Archie, and I drove to Ponca City, OK to meet the foster mom.

First meeting Rocky....playing immediately!

Davis told me that he doesn't like the name "Piper".....and wanted to name her, "Keeper".  Because he wants to Keep Her.  :)Bubbles

Bubbles with my baby....

I took the boys to the pool one Saturday while Mitch golfed with his KC buddies who came down for a visit.  Unfortunately, we got caught in the middle of a rain storm!!  The boys had a blast....yard games and big puddles.

My monkey....he loves to hang on the swing set.

These guys were HILARIOUS all weekend long.  It was so fun seeing them together....they had a blast!  They played over 50 holes of golf in 36 hours.

The Eclipse.....it was a full eclipse in KC, but Wichita had a pretty good view, too!

Arch had a ROUGH NIGHT with croup, so I had to stay home with him that next day.

Look at how the eclipse made the shadows into crescents.....so strange!

....more crescents!

......and I discovered that Pipes can JUMP.

Davis.  Davis. Davis.

He is so damn stubborn sometimes.  haha

Then sweet as pie just two minutes later.

My fur babies love to follow me around and rest with me.  I love it, too.

Daycare sent me this.  :)

We took the dogs to the park one afternoon.  They loved exploring while the boys played!

I was too late to stop him....so instead I took a pic.  haha

Tommy Eck and Archie are the next Davis and Auggie.  :)

I couldn't agree more....

This boy loves his kitty!!

Mitch and I took the boys to Fall River State Park on Sunday.  We hiked and explored....it was beautiful and so easy to walk around!  We will definitely take our fishing poles next time.

Davis was trying to skip rocks on the water.  Neither he nor I had much luck.  ha

This kiddo can skip rocks like his daddy!

Daddy and his boys....

Davis found some snake skin!

Cal stepped on this rock and said, "Wow!  It looks like Africa!"  :)  Smart boy.

We had to ask Grandma Sooz if she thought there may be a market for Kansas driftwood on Etsy.  :)

This boy LOVES  his blankies and paci.  He drapes the blanket over his head and then pulls it around his shoulders like a cape.  💕

Ummmm.....is this not the CUTEST haircut in the history of the world?!?!!?

He loves smelling flowers.  :)

Arch was chasing me and cackling the whole time he ran.  It was so hysterical.

These big boys are so sweet together.  They sleep on the same bed most nights.

Pipes and Rock-o are such sweet dogs.  They play fight, cuddle, take runs together, etc.....they're best buds.

Do you see that white shirt high up in the tree?  Cal is learning to climb trees and he loves it.  I take the boys to the golf course sometimes just so we can find the best trees to climb.

Archie Mac-a-moo loves his buggy.

We are quite a funny sight when we take walks....3 dogs and 3 kids. 😀
