Sweet Davis.....you are 11 months old. What?! Time has flown. I guess time flies when you're having fun (cliché, I know...but oh so true). Since you were born, our lives have been filled with uncontrollable laughter and unending smiles.
You are so busy and very rarely sit down. Walking/running is your main mode of transportation these days. You really love trains and trucks, and although you're often sitting when you play with them, you still crawl all over the place.
I couldn't get a good picture of him because he. doesn't. sit. still. :)
He's really hit a growth spurt this month. I don't know what his stats are, but he's wearing 2T and 3T tops. His pants are 18mos-2T, depending on the brand.
Here are some of his newest skills:
*says "mama" all the time. MELTS. MY. HEART.
*says "vrrrrrrrrmmmmmm" for cars and while playing with them
*says "ba" for ball
*Gives big squeezes around my neck when I pick him up.....hugs!!
*gives open mouth kisses (and when he wants the dogs to kiss him, he walks up to them with his mouth open wide!!)
*climbing stairs like crazy....first time at the KSU game
*quite the sense of humor!!! He likes to act like he's going to give you a toy and then as you reach for it, he'll turn away quickly and sprint in the opposite direction while squealing with laughter
*he LOVES dogs. All dogs. We'll have to teach him that he can't go up to every dog and get in their face, waiting for kisses......
Our oldest boy deserves some blog time. He has some one liners that leave us cackling and other times so prideful.
Cal has been blowing us away lately with all the things he picks up on. He can name all the letters and what sound they make. He wants to read books, so he'll create his own story based on the pictures. He is a sponge. A very tricky, ornery, intelligent sponge.
After we read books tonight, he was asking me about God and Jesus. I told him that I talk to God and pray for our family and friends, etc. I showed him how I say prayers and then he wanted to do it. He said, "God.....thank you for my brother. Thank you for my little brother. Thank you for my mommy and daddy. Thank you for flowers....and thank you for candy. Amen." :) I love that kid.
He was wearing my rain boots.
Some other funnies from Cal:
He told me last weekend that, "I am not so excited to take a nap."
When he doesn't want you to get past him (walking, playing games, etc.), he'll put his arms out and say, "Blocksdam! Blocksdam!" We have no idea where this came from, but we think it has something to do with Toy Story?!?!
I won't lie that sometimes at night when I'm really tired, I may sometimes skip pages in the book to hurry things along. This doesn't fly with Mr. Smarty Pants. In fact, even if I try to summarize a page rather than saying it word for word, he remembers the sequence/words and stops me!
He loves to say, "That's 'sgusting!!!!!" when he thinks things are gross.
At a KSU tailgate, Cal commandeered Papa and forced him to watch a cartoon in the truck with him. One of dad's friend's came by and dad jokingly told him that "they were watching dirty movies." Cal looked at him and said, "Papa....they're not dirty. They're just dusty." lol
Look at these sweet boys. They make my heart so happy.
