These were my nurses on Friday after mom left. More than once, I wished they had opposable thumbs and knew how to warm up chicken broth.
My boys came in one morn to help lift my spirits. The night before, I told Cal that my tummy hurt and he told me, "It's alright, Mama. I know! You eat a little chicken and it'll make you feel all better! Here....just a little. Real quick." (He was talking to me like we do to him when coaxing him to eat. ha!)
We had a great Saturday together as a family. After three days, my fever finally broke and I was able to get up and move around.
This little guy is such a cheery baby!
We took the boys to Yo-B, a frozen yogurt shop in Old Town.....delicious! I gave D his first taste and he was a fan. :) Much better than rice or oatmeal cereal! (Side note: I mashed up a banana last night and mixed it with milk. Davis really liked it! We might just bypass cereal and head towards fruits and veggies.)
......a BIG fan. ha! He kept grabbing the bowl and peering in.
Cal sampled some of everyone's yogurts. We will definitely head back to this shop soon.
After our yogurt, we went to the park. Cal immediately spotted "Rusty and Peter", the pair of Canadian geese that he named last month! lol. No matter where we are any time he sees two geese together, he's convinced they're Rusty and Peter. :)
Davis woke up mid-park visit and was all smiles....big shocker. :)
That night, John and Lizzie Schlatter came over to visit. Ashley was in KC meeting her new nephew! Lizzie and Cal ate some good food, watched a lot of Mickey, and played their little hearts out. I don't know about Lizzie, but once Cal went to bed....he slept very well!
It was in the 80's on Sunday, so we broke out some spring PJ's for bedtime. These were a gift from my Young cousins in Texas. They really spoiled Davis and stocked him up with adorable outfit for spring and summer!
Cal says such funny things lately. He cracks me up!
*We were getting out of my car today and Cal said, "I like your tires, Mama. They're wonderful!"
*Our neighbor was skimming out her pool this weekend and Cal yelled from our deck, "What are you catching, Dee?!?"
*I asked him if the pizza had cheese on it, he replied...."It do's." He doesn't use "does"......just "do" in the plural form. lol.
*On our drive to school one morning, I asked him if he wanted his sunglasses because the sun was so bright. He said matter of factly, "No....the sun is behind us now."
When we get home from work, our hours before bedtime are pretty rushed. It seems we don't get to sit and really enjoy the "now". Such is life.....and we live a very blessed one with two sweet, healthy boys. Luckily, we have moments like this every single day.
I watched m and d kissing over and over...such precious moments....it melts me...
