Mitch was sworn in on Friday and the ceremony was a celebration of all the hard work he and his classmates put into school and the Bar Exam. Mom and Dad came up for the ceremony. That afternoon, the boys went golfing even though it was in the 40's and raining. Hey, they needed to celebrate!
He is taking the oath here.
We had a great weekend full of baseball games. Mitch said he hasn't been to that many games in one weekend since he played. On Saturday, we went to the KSU vs. TCU game. It was a beautiful 60 degree day, so we grabbed a few hot dogs and some popcorn and plopped down on a bench. The stadium looks amazing. The field has been sodded and the stadium has been expanded. It is beautiful!
This was taken about 2.5 seconds before Mitch caught the foul ball that was careening towards the unaware pair of Cal and I. You know that feeling when the crowd around you is shrieking and covering their heads, but you don't want to look up to find the ball because that's the exact moment that you'll inevitably be hit in the face with the it? Ya......me neither.
Doesn't he look thrilled?
He was tracking Willie.
Caught him!
Cal enjoyed the game and really enjoyed running around on the grassy stretch near left field. The Cats were victorious and we had a great day at the ballgame!
We packed up and headed to KC this morning for a day with the Royals. The temp topped out at 80 and there was a slight breeze that provided some much needed relief since we were sitting in direct sunlight the entire game.
He kept yanking his hat off, but he tolerated it for small periods of time at least. Small victories are what we're looking for here, people.
No hat? Fine, we'll try the sunglasses.
He wore them for a bit and then they were thrown on the ground with the hat, but not before he stared at the sun for a few seconds. Safe, right?
Luckily, there is a "kid zone" at Kauffman Stadium and Cal was able to cool off in the splash pad and play on the huge jungle gym.
Cal kept trying to drink from this germ trough as though it were a water fountain. Gag.
It was another great day full of baseball for the Walters. Play ball!
