Cal's ear tubes and our life lately

Silly boy.  We go through at least two outfits a day and this is part of the reason why.

We painted one morning and Davis loved it, too.  I had to watch him closely....paint brushes and paint apparently look like they'd be good teething tools.

Cal....the budding artist.

I couldn't even carry Davis upstairs to the bath.  I gave him one in the sink....check out the colored water!

Lorelai and Wyatt came over later for some fun in the sprinkler and some ice cream.  Megan and I got to catch up.....such a fun day!

This is the only time he will actually sit and eat.....

Davis and I played with the bubble maker one day.  He was entranced by the bubbles.

He's debuting his second outfit of the day....playing peek-a-boo with the tunnel!

Davis was so excited when he discovered the fun noise this made!

Cal shared his popsicle with Big D.

Cal had his second set of ear tubes and an adenoidectomy on Friday the 11th.  He recovered well, but not as quickly as he did with his first set.  He's completely back to normal now, thankfully!!

Snoopy got to go into surgery with him.

While Cal slept after his surgery, Davis relished some free time and played with his big brother's trains.  He's all boy....loves cars and trains!

When Cal woke up, we went for ice cream.  The doctor ordered it....and we obliged....even Davis.

The boys played a funny game while we ate.

We took the boys for a walk this afternoon.  Davis loved riding in his buggy.  He was a natural navigator.

I think it's time for a big boy bike!

Cal got tired and decided to push his trike.

Independence Day and Grandma's 89th Birthday

"Hey look, Mom!  I made us 'cool guys'!"

Davis is rolling more often from his tummy to back now, but he usually just collapses into a pile of giggles when we do tummy time.  He's such a silly baby.

I took the boys to buy fireworks and Cal selected several that have "no big booms".  He thought the Snappers were hysterical!

Time for smoke bombs!

Pee break!  Yes, in our front yard.  Yes, that's how we roll.

Our sweet boys on the 4th....

Davis loved the ribs!  I gave him pork that night and he's since eaten beef and chicken.  It's official....he's a good eater.  He still doesn't eat a large amount of anything at once, but at least he's open to trying a variety of foods!

He was teething on the rib bone.  Bones.....they're not just for dogs.

On Saturday morning, we went to Lewis for the parade.  This rural town puts on a fun parade, I'll tell ya that much.  Cal loved it....but wasn't a fan of the loud sirens.

Davis was really interested in all of the commotion!

I love that one of the parade participants was just a guy driving a truck....with his dog riding shot gun.  I love small towns!

Sure...why not?

The best part was that they threw candy....lots and lots of candy.

He was carrying as much as his little mitts would hold.   This was 1 of 20 candy reapings.

Tractor time!
I love the silos in the background and the old buildings on Lewis's main street.  When Tony and I were younger and stayed at Grandma's, we'd walk on these small, dirt streets to go to the library for books, down to the pub for burgers, and over to the park to play.  I obviously grew up in Larned, but we spent so much time in Lewis that we knew everyone and they knew us (or that we were Bruce's kids/Norma's grandkids).

Time to teeth on the stroller's tray.

He's like that baby in Lemony Snickets!  Case in point:

Cal rode in the barrels and was so excited! They were pulled by a lawn mower.

My beautiful Grandma had such a great time seeing everyone in her town.  Even though she lives in Larned now, Lewis will forever be her town.

Mitch snagged a few awesome hats from the Southern Plains Coop.  They are super cute!

We can't go to Lewis without eating at the Pub!

Our sweet baby and his Great Grandma enjoyed some hamburger and french fries.

My folks bought us this wagon when Tony and I were kids.  I want to take a better photo in it of the boys, but for now we'll accept this one....I love my two naked babies.

Grandma turned 89 on Sunday, July 6th.  Cal offered to help her open her gifts no less than 30 times.  She gladly accepted his help.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!  I love this beautiful woman.  She always makes me feel as though she's been waiting all day to see me and once she does her day is complete.
