The beginning of summer...

I took the boys out to Larned for a few days at the end of May.  We rested up and enjoyed the cooler temps (70 degrees in May?!?!)!

I mowed and Davis really wanted to help me.  Sooooo....I mowed a quarter of the yard this way.  It was a good workout.  lol

I love these pictures.  My Grandpa Young used to sell John Deere tractors.  It'll be fun to take their pictures in some tractor wheels as they grow.   Cal will have to start standing beside them, as he won't fit inside of them much longer!

We went exploring in the countryside.

Cal is really into sports!  Dad was giving him pointers on how to bat and it gave me flashbacks to when he used to do the same to me.  Pretty cool....

I went for a run the next morning, which was so peaceful.  Until I came across THIS:

A DEAD TARANTULA?!?!?!?!

After I ran past that disgusting find, the serenity of my run continued.  I love it out there....

The boys and I went up to Dad's office at the Court House.  They loved playing around in the courtroom!

Davis REALLY enjoyed hitting things with the gavel.  A little too much....

Exploring the storage rooms....

Sitting in Papa's BIG chair.

We can't go to Larned without visiting the Splash Pad!  This place is awesome.

We dried off and went home....only to eat and nap....and then returned to the park/Splash Pad.  :)

I took the boys to the Y when we returned to Wichita.  These boys are waterbugs....especially Davis.  He is almost fearless in the water!

Typical.  One is smiling and the other is sprinting away...

I took the boys to Cal's field trip to Cow Town that week.  Cal's classmates were SO excited to see him!!!  It was like he was a celebrity....lots of hugs and yelling.

His classmates are so sweet to Davis.  They include him any time he's around.  This day was no differently.....he sat right between the girls.  :)

While the kiddos "washed clothes",....

.....Davis chased a cat around the yard.

They put him to work!

Cal and his bff at school, Michael, are so fun together!

This picture cracks me up!!  He looks like he's going to beat somebody up.  haha

After naps, we played in the sprinkler and popped bubbles.

Baba Belle arrived later that night!  The boys spent a lot of time outside playing with her!

This was his "bullfrog face".

The boys enjoyed watching nature shows on Baba's iPad.  Davis loved the lions!

It was so sweet watching them paint together!

We drove by Mitch's office downtown.  I proceeded to get lost for the next 20 minutes until we found the library.  I have a faulty sense of direction....

The big library downtown is so nice.  We will definitely be venturing back!

After naps, we took the boys swimming and then stopped for some delicious sno-cones!

We snapped a few photos before Baba flew out on Tuesday morning.  The boys and I were headed to Tanganikya on another field trip.  Cal....that face!!!

These baby ducklings and their mama ate right out of our hands.  I know we saw more exotic animals that day, but it was fun petting some sweet baby ducklings.

Snake!

D loved feeding the fish...

...and I loved feeding the ducks.  :)

Cal fed the giraffe.  What a beautiful creature!

Davis's turn!

It was soooo hot by this point.  The teachers actually cut the trip short (hallelujah) and we headed home early.

The boys were ready to leave.  lol

We headed home and got ready to nap.  Typical day in the Walter household....

I was leaving for Texas with my mom and dad later that night, so I was painting my nails.  Cal insisted that I paint his also.  I agreed to paint one hand, but not both.  I've got standards.  lol

Davis wanted one nail painted.

A rainy start to our summer.....lots of fun with the boys!

This boy loves his big truck!
We had a few  warm days in between the rainy 2 weeks.
We ventured to the park, per our usual routine!

We explored the outdoors and made new friends.

We splashed in the stagnant gutter water.  Our neighbor took this one day.  ðŸ˜Š.  We had over 10.5" in May, which set a new record.  It replenished all of our lakes and reservoirs.  It made everything green and gave us cooler temps.  This rainy May was great start to our summer!

Mitch and I got away for a Royals game!  His firm set up an outing for all the Associates.  It was a lot of fun!

This one doesn't shy away from a mess.  Here he is eating yogurt, in a non-conventional way.

The next night, we went to Katie's surprise 30th birthday party! So much fun!  Plus, two date nights in one weekend....unheard of!!

On Sunday, we went back to our worm hunting ways.  More rain = more invertebrates to save in the gutters.

This kid!  He started rolling in the water.  I drew the line when he tried to blow bubbles!

Sweet, sweet boy.  He is so precious.  Davis is really trying to have conversations with us now!

He was busy "reading" my magazine.....aka, shredding and looking innocent.

Cute little tushies.

They were painting.  I was enjoying 5 minutes of silence.  :)

We were driving to Padraig's for a play date one morning when we saw this big guy dangerously crossing 21st street.  Soooo......we scooped him up and released him into a nearby pond!

This can't be comfortable.

Lol...neither can this!  Mitch tried on Cal's Batman suit (Baba Belle bought it online and when it arrived we realized how large it was!).

Cal got a fresh new haircut!

.....aaaaaaand more stagnant gutter water play.

We went to a small amusement park with the Gillespies for Ella's birthday.  The boys had a blast!!!

The boys were vegging out watching Despicable Me on the drive to KC.  Davis kept changing the scene with his toes.  lol

Then Cal tooted and said, "Whoah!  That was a guster!"

We got to KC and all of the kids ran a muck.  It was so fun catching up with all my college girlfriends.  We celebrated Evan Tatro's adoption and caught up with one another.

They were "spit painting".  lol

That night, Mitch met some law school friends out and the boys and I had the hotel room to ourselves.  We watched a little Tarzan, brushed our teeth, and then played and wrestled while trying to convince Davis to sleep.  It was a tiring two hours, but eventually he slept.  The boys kept rolling around all night, which meant that I slept very little because I didn't want Davis them to fall out!

I took this pic at 3am.  They were sleeping sideways.

Davis went worm hunting while I was planting flowers.  He decided to smell the worms this time....and then pull them apart.  Two worms are better than one.  ick.
