Photo Shoot

I bought a Groupon and had the boys' pictures taken in November.  I didn't know it at the time, but Davis was working his way up to his first stomach flu and a moderate fever later that night.  So, the shoot went something like this:

Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:

Exhibit C:

Poor guy.

We did catch a couple good shots, which was a win!  Cal was such a good boy.  He was being goofy, but smiling and posing.  He even tried to cheer his brother up.

Mr. Photogenic

This sweet boy was pretty interested in the nature.

I had high hopes for pictures with this old wagon.  It was the one that Tony and I played with as kids!

Strike a pose!

Prepare yourself for some major cuteness.....

"Hey, this isn't so bad!"
Wait....not so fast.  Uh oh....he was creeping back to the crying.

I love this pic.

Such a cutie!!!
His facial expressions crack me up!

"Cal, do you have to pee?"  Cue the world's longest urination on the walking path........as a group of runners came by to witness.  Awesome timing, Cal.

The photographer and I thought this was a cute pic until we realized that Davis was chewing on the wood!

This and that.

Mom came to town and we got some Christmas shopping done one Saturday morning.  Davis saw an empty lap and claimed it.

The boys and I decorated the tree.  Davis was really interested in the ornaments....which I thought I'd placed high enough so he couldn't reach, but I was proven wrong.

"What's up, ladies?  I'm just fueling up for a big day."

This kid LOVES to wear hats!

He opened his birthday card from Aunt Susie and was enamored with Mickey on the front.

Cal helped mom rub my feet one night over Thanksgiving.  He kept slathering more lotion on and then told me that he "needed more toe wash" to make my feet smooth.  lol!

This turkey made a pretty cute hat for the holiday.

These musicians really enjoy playing slamming the keys on the piano.

Cal got in several games of Candy Land (his present from Mimi and Papa) over the break.  He beat Papa and was pretty proud of it.

So sweet.  Cal and Papa were watching some TV and relaxing later that night.

Just in case we hadn't traveled enough, we went to the last KSU football game of the year and watched them stomp KU into the ground.

The boys had a great time playing with their cars during the first half.

The next evening, Jingle Jacob the Elf returned and Cal woke up to find undies and diapers in the tree!  That silly 'ol elf.

Davis's First Birthday!

Our Birthday boy had a great celebration!

Although you couldn't tell by looking at this picture....

.....but I coaxed him into one smile.  :)

When he woke up on his birthday, he came downstairs to find streamers and balloons all over!  He was a big fan of both.

We opened a few presents that morning.  We gave him a car ramp toy, which is a big hit with both of the boys!

Cal got a big brother gift......a noisy race car......because we don't have enough of those in our house.   :)   (Why do we do this to ourselves?!?)

Davis liked his cars and such, but I think his favorite gift was his Mickey.  He loves to give him hugs!

Grandpa Walt and Grandma Sooz sent him an awesome puzzle.  All of the animals make noise when you put them in their spots.

All dressed and ready to go!

We drove to Larned that afternoon to celebrate the Birthday Boy and Thanksgiving.

Donnie was relegated to the very back of the van.  I think he was more comfortable back there, but I couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the big galoot.

Ollie Bird sat on my lap, of course.  It's a good thing I wore black yoga pants on the ride because those don't show dog hair.  At all.

Davis was very concerned with/interested in Papa's moustache this trip.

I made his birthday cake and he got to lick the spatula, of course!

A Mickey cake for our Mickey fan!

He was a fan.  :)

Davis might have an affinity for ice cream, just like his daddy!  He held onto mom's finger and demanded more bites....until the whole bowl was gone!

Cal helped him open his gifts!

Davis was furious that we couldn't get this tractor out of the package quickly!  Great Grandma picked a winner....Davis loves it!

"I want it!!!!!"

"Gimme that!  Finally!"

Mimi and Papa gave Big D an awesome riding toy.  When you push the button it moves forward!  Both of the boys have had a great time with this miniature four wheeler!  (I hope it's the only four wheeler they ever have interest in, for the record!)

Happy Birthday, sweet baby.  You are truly a blessing!

Stats:
Height: 31.5" (98%ile)
Weight: 24.5# (92%ile)  He's lost weight in the last three months because he's always on the go!

Words: Mama, ball, Dada, (trumpets elephant sound), moo, Roar! (dinosaur sound), Buhbuh (butterfly)
He will occasionally sign for "more".
Talks in gibberish constantly!  Loves to have "conversations".
Points to my nose, eyes, and mouth when I ask.
When we ask, "Where's the ______?", he points to objects around the room and in books.
He's had the puking flu 2x this month.  AWFUL!!!
The doctor suspects that he has allergies.  I guess when the inside of a kid's nose has a bluish tint instead of a red one, it indicates allergies are present.
His sleeping has been off all month.  He's getting a molar and has been sick off and on......so he's up every few hours again?!!
He has 8 teeth.....getting his 9th, a molar.
Davis ALWAYS has bruises on his head!
He generally is walking around the house with only one sock.
He LOVES music!  He rocks and claps when he hears a tune.
He moved to the big boy classroom this month and is loving it.  He has adjusted well and really enjoys playing with all of the other mobile kiddos.

We love you, big boy!!  Happy 1st Birthday!!!
